new Mutes on the Block
Contrabass Trombone Straight Mute!
Here, Nick Schwarz is holding one of several prototypes that I sent out for him to try on Wozzeck with the Metropolitan Opera. This model ended up working out best as an all around contra straight. Euphonium Straight Mute!
Scott Sutherland asked me if I had any euphonium straight mutes for an upcoming project. I had no idea what he was up to until he launched one of his new videos. It works perfectly in this arrangement of Beetlejuice. Click on the image to watch the video and hear the mute in action. Tenor Trombone Bucket Mute!
Here's a lighter version of the standard "in bell" style of bucket mute. As far as bucket mutes are concerned, there are many styles to choose from, but for me it always made more sense to have one you could screw in the bell like every other mute. The only issues were weight and having the mute actually stay in the bell. The ABS plastic construction takes care of the weight issue and the oil resistant neoprene "cork" takes care of the staying in the bell issue. |

SHOP Dog - Toby (boby)
"Hey who is this?", my wife Mandy asks as we drop off another of our dogs for Doggy Boot Camp.
The trainer replies, "Oh that's Toby. He's actually available for adopt..."
"We'll take him!", Mandy interrupts before he can finish his sentence, assuming that since he's being fostered by a trainer that all of his issues will already be solved. That ended up not entirely being the case, but we love our "Boby" and can't imagine not having him in our lives along with our other two rescue pups.
As far as his "shop dog" duties are concerned, he mostly keeps marauding invaders from infiltrating the perimeter, and is an exceptional, if not neurotic, chaser of flies.
